If you're tired of heavy handed edits and want a more light & warm look, then I'm your photographer! I want to let your natural beauty shine through, and great lighting does a lot to smooth out skin and make the eyes pop. I've been asked, "Did you edit my eyes?" multiple times and the answer is always no. Beautiful light and clean editing go a long way.
No more stiff and awkward-looking poses. I've worked with photographers who didn't tell me how to pose, and it was not enjoyable. I will guide you through the whole session, so don't stress! Plus, your client questionnaire will ask if you have any particular poses or groups in mind for your photos. For family sessions, I will break up the poses in a way that gives kids frequent opportunities to run around while I get other shots.
While I always ensure we get the classic photos of people smiling at the camera, I also want to capture all the candid, in between moments! I use lots of movement based posing to help create genuine, comfortable smiles. I'll also use a client questionnaire to get an idea of your style. And I always keep some water and wipes in my car in case we deal with stains, smeared makeup, or other curveballs.
I will start by gathering basic info, such as the # of people in the shoot, location preferences, dates that work for you, etc. This minimizes back and forth and saves time.
*To ensure beautiful lighting, shoots usually take place the hour before sunset/after sunrise.
Once we've chosen a time and location for your session, I will send a link to sign your contract and pay the 50% deposit required to book (remainder due the day before your session).
Next, I'll send a brief post-booking questionnaire to help me understand your style, what poses you want, etc. You will also get my Session Prep Guide with tips for what to wear, what to bring, etc. Relax and look forward to showing up prepared, confident, and excited for your session! I will send a text reminder the day before with a GPS link for where to park. No scrolling back through old messages!

"Aislinn has done our family photos for the past 3 years and we've loved each session with her. She's professional, patient, guides you so you don't have to wonder how to pose and where to stand, and she's great with our kids. She makes it fun for them, let's them know they're doing a great job, and she'll break it up so they don't get bored and tired of smiling. Her editing is natural and light and we can't wait each year to hang up our updated photos in our home! She's amazing!"

I've been doing photography for years and will pose and guide you through the whole thing. Your job is to relax and enjoy the experience!

What if we have to cancel?
When do I receive the photos?
What should I wear?
Is a deposit required to book my session?
Do I have to order prints through you?
Can I post my photos on social media?
Can I bring a prop/object?
If weather, sickness, or some other surprise forces us to cancel, we will simply reschedule! I leave some space in my calendar to account for this, so we can hopefully find a time close to the original date.
Within 2 weeks, I will email a link to the online gallery with all your pictures! All galleries provide at least 40 photos to choose from, and allow you to download 20 photos without paying extra (excluding mini-sessions). If you decide you want more, you will be able to purchase extra individuals or the whole gallery. Print products are also available through it!
Families: Your Session Prep Guide will have plenty of info on this, but my biggest tip is to pick 2-3 core colors, create the first outfit (usually Mom's) based on those colors, then center the other outfits around that one and the 2 theme colors.
Seniors: Pick something nice that fits your style! If you love neutrals, wear those, and if you like brighter colors, go for it! Just try to avoid super detailed/small patterns, as the camera doesn't always capture those very well. The Session Prep Guide has lots of info for y'all, too, and if you have any questions I am happy to help!
Yes, a 50% retainer is necessary to officially book your session. Once you decide you want to schedule a shoot, I will send a contract and invoice that makes reserving your spot a breeze!
Once you receive an online gallery and download your images, you are free to print them anywhere you like! However, I recommend buying prints through the gallery. The print labs used are higher quality and will portray colors (especially skin tones) more accurately than cheaper print labs.
Absolutely! I would simply love it if you tag me @aislinnriveraphotography.
Of course! If you want to bring bubbles, flowers, a blanket, or anything else to your session, tell me and we'll discuss how to include it. I encourage seniors to bring something related to a passion/hobby of yours (a camera, books, flowers, etc.). We can brainstorm if you want ideas!
